Batson to Speak on Expanding the “Oil Factory” Concept

Charlotte Batson will be speaking at the Innovations in Production Enhancement Conference that takes place in Houston on Oct. 20-21.

Her topic, “Continuous improvement: The manufacturing analogy and statistical tools in shale 2.0” will include the principles of the manufacturing analogy for oilfield drilling that has emerged, in which wells are “constructed” by the thousands in a highly repeatable manner. The drivers of this manufacturing efficiency are applicable to a wide variety oil industry operations, and there are statistical tools and analytical techniques that can be used regardless of the amount of data and computing power available, or the location of the operations. Companies don’t have to have “big data” to embrace the “big data” concept of Shale 2.0 and benefit from these innovations.
